Bumps and Beyond

Bumps & Beyond is a charity in central Stamford that helps families source clothing and equipment for children under 12 years old. We cover a variety of areas including Rutland, South Kesteven and Peterborough. We seek a world where no parent or caregiver has to worry about essential equipment or clothing. We rely on donations from the public to support us and are currently open to the public 3 days a week. Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays 9:30-1:30pm. As part of our day to day role we help all families to make sure they have what they need to support their family. This could be from clothing, pushchairs, car seats, toys, nappies, milk and other essentials. We also help families who are in crisis and have fled from difficult circumstances. We support these families and make sure they have everything they need to provide for their family.

Our In-House Day Opportunities service offers good quality building and community-based day services for older people and people with learning and physical disabilities. The service helps people to live independent and fulfilling lives. We will help people using the service, to develop friendships and to do the everyday things that are important to them. We will also ensure people can be part of and make important contributions to their local communities. The service also provides a level of support for the wider family.

Day opportunities help people to:

Make positive contributions to the community, make friends, develop relationships and the people we support have personalised activity plans which reflect their interests.

Take part in various interest and activities:

Baking, cooking, gardening and horticulture, independent living skills, volunteering in their local community, craft projects, micro enterprise ideas, coffee mornings, fund raising or simply to have fun.

These activities are a great way to improve wellbeing. It is a chance for the people we support to meet others, build confidence, learn new skills and to live life to the full.

Lincolnshire Nappy Library

Lincolnshire Cloth Nappy Library (NCT) provides trial kits of reusable nappies to help families find more sustainable, affordable and effective solutions for their children. Kits are available in Newborn (6-12lbs), “Birth to Potty” (10-30lbs) and Toddler (30-60lbs). There are also specialist night kits available for anyone needing a better night time solution. The library offers all nappies in two kit types: Style Trial kits contain the latest brands of nappies in a variety of styles to help families find the brands that work best. These kits carry a small one off charge of £10-£15 depending on the kit. Community kits are made up of donations of older stock, which may no longer be commercially available but are otherwise to the same high quality as our style trial kits. These are free of charge and offered on a 12 week rolling hire basis. It would be possibly to use cloth nappies from birth to potty training with our free kits! In addition our premature baby kits (4-10lbs) are offered free with an unlimited hire duration and can be delivered to one of our Lincolnshire NICU units. Our volunteers cover all of Lincolnshire and you can find out more via Lincolnshire Cloth Nappy Library on Facebook, or by emailing nappylibrary.lincoln@nct.org.uk
